Walk us through your daily skincare routine, how do you work Mother Dirt into your daily routine?
My daily skincare routine is very simple. I don't wear much makeup so it's really important for me to take really good care of my skin which means using great products with ingredients that I trust. I use the Mother Dirt Cleanser every morning in the shower on my face and body! Just cleanser and water and I am ready to take on the day and hit the ground running.
How do you explain Mother Dirt to other people?
Mother Dirt is much more than a skincare line. It's about maintaining a biome-friendly body. Mother Dirt is all about taking care of your skin without removing the good bacteria.
How do you interpret “less is more”? Are there any other ways this philosophy plays into your life?
Less is more is pretty much how I try to move through life every single day. I am always practicing ways to slow down which means having less on my calendar and being fully present with everything I do. For me, it's all about how to move through life artfully, with grace and ease. But yes, literally less is more...I am always working on decluttering my apartment, my closets, my inbox, you name it! This also includes my medicine cabinet...I'd rather have a few really great products, which includes Mother Dirt.
Do you have any other “unconventional” personal care or lifestyle habits?
As a reiki master, having a self reiki practice may be considered an "unconventional" lifestyle habit. It's truly a gift to offer reiki to clients every week but it's important for me to create a self practice to stay grounded and connected with myself.
Why do you feel it’s important to connect with nature?
It is so important to connect with nature and is something that really takes a lot of effort living in NYC. It just feels so good to have quiet and breathe in fresh, clean air. Nature is also very important for me to feel grounded. When I am connected with nature, I tend to feel much more grounded and intuitive.
