Walk us through your daily skincare routine / How do you work Mother Dirt into your daily routine?
I love using Mother Dirt mist after the shower. I spritz my face with it and let it soak in before applying a hydrating essential oil blend.
Since our products are unique, how do you explain Mother Dirt to other people?
I explain we've been tricked into being obsessed with being clean...to the point that it's stripping away the healthy bacteria on our bodies. I point to a number of books I've read on the topic (Eat Dirt is great!), and then introduce Mother Dirt to them!
Do you have any other “unconventional” personal care or lifestyle habits?
Haha, yes. I am a "weird toothpaste enthusiast." I have probiotic toothpaste, I've brushed with baking soda and coconut oil, MCT oil toothpaste, and activated charcoal, which turns your whole mouth black and then somehow magically makes your teeth super white.
Why do you feel it’s important to maintain a healthy microbiome?
I believe our entire body is connected, and when the microbiome is off balance, trouble starts...and I'd like to avoid trouble when possible :)
Do you prefer the ocean or the mountains?
Ocean! I'm currently in Santorini, Greece leading a yoga retreat here, and the water is so salty, I love it!
