Mother Dirt is excited to join the network of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and the Green Chemistry and Commerce Council! Together, we’ll work towards a world where clean comes with healthy.
Our mission is grounded in concepts that connect skincare with the natural world. We strive to give our users the opportunity to have skin that feels and looks great while conserving our environment, and keeping toxic chemicals out of their personal care products. We view this as a critical shift in public health.
That’s why we’re so proud to announce that we’re joining the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and the Green Chemistry and Commerce Council (GC3) in their efforts to encourage and enable companies to formulate healthy products.
The Big News
The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, which is a project of the Breast Cancer Fund, works to promote the development of safer cosmetics. The Campaign focuses on educating the public, working towards legislative changes, and advocating for corporate accountability. Since 2004, the Campaign has helped reduce the use of toxic chemicals in cosmetics and increase the level of disclosure and transparency of cosmetic companies.

GC3 is a network of companies, NGOs, and other organizations fostering a science-minded community and working together to promote green chemistry and reduce the use of toxic chemicals throughout manufacturing supply chains. GC3 members collaborate to develop green chemistry tools, policies, innovations, and business practices.
Both of these organizations are operating with the end goal of ensuring that the personal care industry provides products that keep both consumers and the environment healthy. We’re so happy to be involved!
Since our launch last summer, we’ve been continually working to provide our Mist-ers with safe, effective products that have a minimal impact on our environment. We’ve made changes like cutting down on packaging and continually improving our formulas.
This is the next step in an ongoing process.
We won’t stop here. We’ll keep working on new ideas and plans, and with the help of the great new communities we’ve joined, we’ll have even more like-minded individuals guiding us in our efforts. Cheers to more Misting!!
